Today, Fort Langley held their May Day parade. There were lots of antique vehicles, people in period costumes and a few animals. The weather was scorching hot and sunny, perfect day for a parade!
...and last but not least, the Maypole Dance. I have always wanted to do this, but it seems this was just for young maidens.
We finished the parade watching the dance and chowing down on BBQ salmon and bannock.
Fort Langley has always reminded me of a Norman Rockwell painting but especially so today with the old vehicles and clothing. I am so grateful to live in a town that celebrates its history, I would love to have lived in those days.

Thanks, your awesome,
What fun! We were in B.C. a year ago for my son's wedding! Even went to Fort Langley. They had a baby Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI love a small town parade. We have several each year in Powell River. They go right down Marine Avenue in from of our condo in town. We can stand on the balcony and watch everything. We have a huge car club that comes out, especially for the Sea Fair Parade, then they go up to the airport and join us for an airplane fly-in. This year will be the third joint event for cars and planes. - Margy
